Wednesday, May 27 at 5:30 p.m. — RUTLAND — Since 2000, the demand for treatment for opioid addiction in Vermont has increased more than 700 percent. With tackling substance abuse an identified priority by Governor Peter Shumlin, how are we doing in the greater Rutland community?
Dr. W. Gordon Frankle, Medical Director of Rutland Regional Medical Center’s West Ridge Center for Addiction and Recovery will present a talk about addiction on Wednesday, May 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Conference Center on 476 Holiday Drive in Rutland. The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required.
Dr. Frankle will discuss addiction, the role of treatment and medications in addressing addiction, and the value of a strong community support system. Following Dr. Frankle’s presentation, there will be a question and answer session. This presentation is ideal for all who are interested in gaining more insight into addiction and recovery and for those undergoing treatment who want additional information.
