FEMA offers assistance at Vermont State Fair

FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance teams are stationed at the Vermont State Fair, helping eligible attendees apply for FEMA assistance, providing application status updates, and answering application questions. FEMA preservation specialists are also giving demonstrations and informing about how to salvage storm-damaged family photos, artwork, textiles, media and other family treasures. Stop by FEMA’s booth near the First Aid Building from Wednesday to Saturday from 8AM to 11PM.

FEMA assistance is available to homeowners and renters, in Rutland, Windham, Windsor, Caledonia, Chittenden, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans and Washington, with underinsured or uninsured disaster-related loss from the July 7 – 17 floods, landslides, and severe storms.

Some types of FEMA grant assistance may include temporary hotel reimbursement, rental assistance, home repair or replacement, and coverage for other disaster-related expenses, such as moving and storage, vehicle repair or replacement, childcare, or medical and dental costs.

If you’re unable to visit the FEMA booth at the State Fair, stop by the Disaster Recovery Center in downtown Rutland. This Recovery Center is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. and is located at the Asa Bloomer Building, 88 Merchants Row, Suite 330. To find other Disaster Recovery Centers nearest you, visit fema.gov/drc. Residents can also apply for FEMA assistance online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.
