RUTLAND — This Saturday, May 9, the Rutland Downtown Farmers’ Market returns to its outdoor location. Along with sunshine and warm temperatures (finally!) the move from the indoor location on 251 West Street to Depot Park is a sure sign that summer is here.

The outdoor farmers market will be open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Oct. 30. Additionally, there is a Wednesday farmers market open from 3-6 p.m., which began May 6 and will remain open through Oct. 26, also in Depot Park. A farmers market is also held in Fair Haven on Fridays from from 3-6 p.m., but won’t open until June 5.

This summer there will be approximately 100 vendors at the markets, according to Sherry Smith, secretary for the board of directors. Vendors specialize in a diverse selection of produce, prepared foods, baked goods, crafts, flowers and plants, health products, maple syrup, wine and more.
