KILLINGTON – On Saturday, May 2, towns across Vermont participated in the 45th annual Green Up Day event. In Killington, volunteers helped to clean up litter from the town’s 44 miles of roadways. Killington Mountain School student-athletes, faculty and staff did their part to help for several hours this past Thursday, cleaning up the access road from the school’s campus, up to the Killington sign. The green bags were piled up at the end of the afternoon, and the road was left looking a little tidier.

The entire school also helped the community by participating in a tree-planting initiative on Monday, May 4, in addition to doing maintenance work on a KMS-maintained trail on River Road in Killington. The mile-long trail goes from River Road to Thundering Brook Road, and features a chairlift swing, dedicated to former and beloved faculty member, Hasse Halley.

On Monday a group of student-athletes hit the trail with faculty member, Steve Tuckerman, they cleared downed trees and brush, dug some ditches, and cleaned up wet spots.
