Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. — RUTLAND — The greater Rutland community demonstrates its support of local food, local farms, and local businesses in many ways. Area farmers’ markets are bustling, farms routinely sell out of their available CSA Farm Shares, more and more restaurants use local ingredients, and the community is increasingly able to buy local food and goods from small and large shops. RAFFL (Rutland Area Farm and Food Link) wants to thank the community by hosting a free movie at the Paramount Theatre.
On Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m., at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Rutland, RAFFL is hosting a free showing of “Chef” staring Jon Favreau, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Amy Sederis, Sofia Vergara, and John Leguizamo. This movie, a wonderful mix of comedy and drama, music and food, follows a creative but troubled chef who opens a food truck after being fired from a prestigious restaurant. This film is rated R (mostly for mature language) and is “certified fresh” with 85 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes film review website.
This movie night is completely free and is RAFFL’s way of thanking all members of the community for their support of local food, local farms, and local businesses. And to thank the community for their ongoing support of RAFFL’s work helping farms and farmers, building the local economy, and preserving our working landscapes.
This movie also celebrates RAFFL’s 10th anniversary.
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend this free movie. No tickets are necessary.
