Submitted

This “getaway” bicycle was ditched by a robbery suspect in Royalton, and detained by police as evidence.

On April 19 at 8 p.m. Vermont State Police Dispatch was contacted about an armed robbery which had just occurred at RB’s Deli located at 232 Chelsea Street in Royalton. State Troopers responded and found that a lone male subject had entered the business and demanded money from the two clerks inside while brandishing a knife. The subject accessed the cash register and removed  an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the building.

The suspect was followed by an employee and was seen getting onto a green and white Diamondback mountain bike. The subject crashed the bike a short distance from the store and ran on foot north on the train tracks. The subject is described as 5’10”, medium build, with dark hair. He was wearing green Carhart style pants with a grey sweatshirt.  The subject’s face was covered by sunglasses and a face mask.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the Vermont State Police in Royalton.
