George Pressley, 67

George Pressley was a fixture in the Killington area for many years. Born in Detroit, his lengthy tenure in Vermont began when he became a resident of the Farm and Wilderness Camp in Plymouth in the 1960s.

Life experiences gleaned there were truly that, and remained with and affected him throughout his life. During the 1970s he worked at the Bridgewater Corners Store and often skied the slopes of Killington Mountain.

In the following decades during summer months he was often seen riding his Harley as he did property maintenance for several vacation homeowners with whom he typically became good friends.

In winter months, Pressley would be in his Ford pickup, at all hours of the day and night, snow plowing the challenging driveways throughout the Killington area.

Pressley’s health began a long decline following a head-on crash on Sherburne Flats and years later he passed away on Dec. 12, 2021.

A remembrance service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the East Clarendon Cemetery on Airport Road, Clarendon. All friends of Pressley are welcome.
