Killington Resort provides produce to staff through CSA

By Brooke Geery

This summer, Killington Resort and the Play Forever fund are proud to invest in our community by participating in a Community Support Agriculture (CSA) program. Through this partnership, in-season produce items are supplied by local farms and distributed for free on a first-come, first served basis to active Killington team members monthly throughout the summer.

CSA programs such as this one help local farmers manage cash flow, while providing timely local fruits and vegetables to the staff, a relationship designed to keep the local economy strong and healthy. Vermont is a bountiful environment, ripe with natural assets, and this CSA is one great way to take advantage of this place we live and play.

Killington Resort thanks the following farms for providing July’s bounty, which included squash, kale, beans and so much more. These fresh veggies inspired culinary creativity from the over 200 members of the Killington staff who took advantage of the first of three CSA produce giveaways. A second giveaway will take place in August.

July’s participating farms included: Czajkowski Farm, Old Friends Farm, Harlow Farm, Warner Farm, Pioneer Valley Potato Farms, and Allen Brothers Farm.
