Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m. — RUTLAND — America’s Navy is coming to Rutland, one of three cities to host a performance by Navy Band Northeast during its April 2015 tour.
Navy Band Northeast’s Pops Ensemble concert is scheduled for April 20 at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 30 Center Street, Rutland. Other locations on the tour include Stowe and Randolph.
Navy Band Northeast’s Pops Ensemble is a concert band that performs a wide variety of musical styles including traditional band literature, popular standards and patriotic favorites. Whether performing for an outdoor summer concert series or a holiday concert in December, the Pops Ensemble provides musical entertainment for audiences of all ages. Navy Band Northeast ensembles perform over 500 engagements annually, personifying the quality and professionalism of today’s Navy and instilling pride and patriotism during each and every performance.
One of Navy Band Northeast’s primary responsibilities involves touring their 11-state area of responsibility. Many of the band’s performing units embark each year on concert tours throughout the Northeast, allowing the band to reach out to audiences in areas that do not have opportunities to see the Navy’s musical ensembles on a regular basis. The concerts are family-friendly events, meant to be entertaining to veterans, families, individuals and those interested in joining the Navy.
All Navy Band Northeast performances are free and open to the public. For more info, visit www.cnic.navy.mil/NavyBandNortheast.
