Sherburne Memorial Library closed May 30 – June 2

The library will be closed for Memorial Day and for the two days after.

The summer theme this year for kids is Oceans of Possibilities so we will take those two days to drop the entire building under water. We’ve been working on the decor for the last six months — from mermaids and mermen, to all sorts of sea creatures, Pirates Cove with an authentic ship’s wheel for kids to steer the ship and a full size pirate ship behind the circulation desk, to a full town in miniature called Sherburne Shores complete with Gould’s Art Studio, Chet’s Restaurant and Boat Tours, and a full length boardwalk.  Add to that a campground, sea monster, and Exit-sign eating shark and there will be a few photo opportunities.

The grand opening reception will be at noon on Thursday, June 2. Snacks will be provided and you may even see a few sunbathing bears.
