The Mountain Times won five awards for excellence in Boston

Staff report

The Mountain Times won five awards for excellence in journalism, marketing, design and multimedia storytelling at the New England Better Newspaper Competition, which took place April 29-30, in Boston.

The Mountain Times competes in the largest class of weekly newspaper (those with circulations over 5,000/week) making the competition very steep.

For journalism, the Covid Guides won first place for Best Niche Publication.

For marketing, it won first place for Best Real Estate Display Ad (thanks Killington Pico Realty, for letting Krista Johnston design it!) and the Real Estate Guide won second place for Best Special Section/Advertising.

For design, GRIP magazine (annual mountain bike guide) earned third for Best Overall Design and Presentation.

And in multimedia, Ethan Weinstein won for his podcast, “They healed me: A life changed by fungi.”
