Fatal skiing accident reported at Killington Resort

KILLINGTON — State Police report that a skier died on the slopes of Killington Resort, Saturday, March 21 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

State police said Terrence Scott, age 23 from Nashua, N.H., was skiing with family and friends Saturday afternoon when he lost control and crashed into multiple trees, knocking off his helmet. He was described as an expert skier.

Police say Scott was immediately attended to by emergency medical personnele. Scott was unconscious throughout treatment and was pronounced dead at the mountain.

Killington Resort confirmed that Killington Ski Patrol was the first to respond to the scene after receiving reports of an injured skier near the Northbrook Trail. They transported him to a waiting ambulance that took him to Rutland Regional Medical Center.

The Killington Resort management team extends its deepest sympathies .

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the skier during this time of loss and grief,” said Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington Resort.

A more in depth investigation into the cause of death is currently underway by the Vermont State Police.
