The Killington-Pico Rotary Club recently presented a check for $2,000 to Missy Karr of Parents and Educators Aligned for Killington Students (PEAKS) in support of the new playground for Killington Elementary School. Rotary Club President Janina Curtis worked with Missy Karr in preparing a grant application from Rotary District 7870. The grant for $1,000 was awarded and matched by $1,000 from the Killington-Pico Rotary Club. The donation is for Phase II of the new playground. Phase I is complete, with students and local children enjoying the new playground features. Brainstorming sessions for Phase II are underway, with the KES students voting for a “Yeti Kingdom” custom designed theme for the second half of the playground. Donations can be mailed to: Sherburne Education Foundation, P.O. Box 998, Killington, VT 05751.
