KILLINGTON—On Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 10:12 a.m. troopers from the Vermont state police Rutland barracks responded to a crash on Route 4 in Killington, in the area known as the Killington Flats by the Turn of the River Lodge. Three vehicles were involved: Patrick F. Conlon, 64 of Methuen, Massachussetts, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic; Stephen J. Frankel, 59 of Killington, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado; and Joseph Robert Terry, 44 of Aldan, Pennsylvania, was driving a 2002 Isuzu 22-foot box truck.

Investigation into the crash determined that Conlon and Frankel were in a line of vehicle traffic on Route 4 when both attempted to pass the box truck. A collision between the two passing vehicles caused them to lose control, and one of the vehicles to then crash into the box truck, which caused it to lose control, travel from the roadway, and overturn down a 15-foot embankment. Joseph Robert Terry, 44 of Aldan, Pennsylvania, was the operator of the box truck and was found partially ejected and deceased.

No others were injured.
