Friday, March 20 at 9 a.m. — POULTNEY — 3SquaresVT is a nutrition program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture that boosts your food budget to help you stay healthy and independent. If you are over 65 or receive SSI and have a checking or savings account, you do not have to get a swipe card. Instead, your benefits can come in the form of cash deposited right into your bank account. You can tap into that account the same way you would withdraw cash from it or use a check or debit card to pay other expenses. The Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging will be available to assist with applications or answer questions on March 20, at the Young at Heart Senior Center, 35 Furnace Street, Poultney, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
