Juvenile stabbed in Poultney

On Wednesday, Aug. 11, at approximately 4:30 p.m., troopers from the Vermont State Police — Rutland Barracks responded to 217 Main St. in Poultney for a reported stabbing. It was reported that a juvenile had been stabbed in the parking lot of Stewart’s. Investigation revealed Shania Goyette, 21, of Poultney, stabbed a juvenile with a knife causing the juvenile injury. The juvenile was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Goyette was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland Barracks. Goyette was issued conditions, and bail was set by a judge. Goyette was held at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.

Troopers were assisted on scene by the Fair Haven Police Dept., Poultney Rescue and Granville Rescue.
