Brandon Select Board to return to in-person meetings, remote optional

By Neil P. Allen

On Monday, the Brandon Select Board will return to in-person meetings beginning with its next meeting, with the option to access the meeting via Zoom.

Select Board member Tim Guiles said, “We talked about this at the last meeting. With the guidelines changing, we could return to in-person meetings and continuing with Zoom.”

“We ordered some equipment to make it happen. We think we have a solution,” said Bill Moore, Brandon Recreation Dept. Director. “I have a TV hanging on the wall here that we can use as a monitor.

“Participants from home will be able to see the board and the board can see who is participating from home and allow for in-person participants, too,” he continued. “We will test it and it should be ready for the June 14 meeting.”

Guiles asked if there should be any guidelines requiring those who haven’t been vaccinated to wear masks. Town Manager David Atherton proposed “doing whatever the governor’s guidance is regarding masks.”

The board members agreed to this change and voted unanimously to pass the motion.
