Killington closes for skiing, opens for riding and golf May 29

UPDATE: Thursday, May 20: Killington ends skiing for the 2020-21 season. “After assessing the conditions and forecast, it’s clear that the 2020-2021 winter season at Killington has come to an end after 170 operating days — the longest season in the East,” the resort stated Thursday afternoon. “We will not reopen for skiing and riding this weekend. Sunday, May 16 was officially the final day of winter operations at The Beast.”

 

Killington Resort announces summer schedule, events 

KILLINGTON—Killington Resort announced Tuesday, May 18, it will open its 18-hole golf course and kick off a summer-long celebration of the bike park’s 30th season on Saturday, May 29.

“We’re looking forward to offering guests a summer of memorable adventures, as Vermont continues to reopen,” said Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington Resort and Pico Mountain.

This summer, Killington Bike Park celebrates 30 years with big investments. In addition to improvements to existing bike trails, plans are in place to build new trails and new features, including a GoPro Covered Bridge on Step It Up. New this summer, guests will have the ability to track mountain biking stats with the Killington App.

Skiing

The “goods” are going fast! The resort posted on social media, Tuesday. “Our Superstar snow harvest is melting, but we really want to spin the lift one more time this season if we can. So, the tentative plan is to operate this Saturday, May 22, only for the final day of the 2020/21 winter season at Killington.” The resort will make its final decision on Thursday, reassessing conditions.

Mountain biking

The bike park is slated to open Saturday, May 29, with Snowshed express quad only. Daily operations are slated to begin June 18 with Snowshed and Ramshead lifts spinning. K-1 Gondola is scheduled to spin Thursday-Sunday for mountain biking and scenic gondola rides beginning July 1.

Golf

The golf course will be open daily May 29 through Oct. 11 (conditions permitting) with tee times available from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Rental clubs and lessons are available.

Adventure Center

The Adventure Center will open Thursday through Sunday beginning July 1.
