Vicar Lisa Ransom and Farmer Priest Rachel Field welcomed two colonies of honey bees to Mission Farm in Killington, Sunday, May 2. Bees are part of the plan to bring regenerative agriculture practices to Mission Farm.

Field explained all the steps she took to introduce the swarms of bees to their new home on the hillside overlooking the gardens at Mission Farm. The bees will have plenty to pollinate at Mission Farm.  Along with all of the natural habitat and the vegetable gardens Ransom, Field and volunteers have been busy planting trees and bushes on the property.

Additionally, on Tuesday, April 27, Ransom, Field and volunteers planted 60 blueberry bushes along the hillside overlooking Mission Farm Road near the bee hives. Then on Saturday, May 1, Sadie Brown, nursery manager from the Poultney Mettowee Natural Resource Conservation District helped to plant additional trees to augment buffering.
