Friday, April 23—As the snow melts away and buds begin to burst, there are so many reasons to celebrate spring! Leading up to VINS celebration of Earth Day on April 24, we ask you to share with us your favorite sign of spring with a photo. These photos will be shared to the VINS Facebook & Instagram for others to see.
The contest began April 1 and submissions are accepted until 5 p.m. April 23.
Some examples of signs of spring
- Your hand-made Flower Fairy posed in nature
- Nest building for birds and mammals
- Spring peeper and wood frog sightings
- Vernal pools development
- Budding flowers & trees
- Reptiles basking in the sun
- Red-winged blackbirds singing in swamps
The contest is open to all ages. Entries will be judged by VINS staff. Up to five submissions per person are allowed. The winner will be announced on Saturday, April 24 via social media.
