Wonderfeet offers summer camps for kids ages 3-10

Wonderfeet Children’s museum, located at 11 Center St. in Rutland, is offering a series of camps this summer for kids age 3-10 years old.

“If your young ones love dinosaurs, writing or robotics or more, Wonderfeet has a program they will love,” Wonderfeet said in a statement.

Offerings include:

Little Explorers Dig Dinosaurs

June 21-25, 9-11:30 a.m.

Ages 3-6

$75, campers should bring a water bottle and snack

Roar into the summer with an exploration of everyone’s favorite prehistoric reptiles! Little paleontologists will dig into the past to learn more about some of our favorite dinosaurs. How did dinosaurs move about the Earth? What did they eat? Hopefully not us! We’ll keep our distance on this dinosaur expedition.

Young Writers’ Workshop: what’s your story?

June 28-July 2, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Ages 6-9

$125, campers should bring a water bottle, snack and lunch

We are all the main characters in our own story, but the choices we make each day determine how our story goes. This workshop focuses on the basics of storytelling and will feature lots of ways to activate your imagination. Writing skills are not a necessity!

Junior Robotics Camp

July 12-16, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Ages 7-10

$125, campers should bring a water bottle, snack and lunch

This camp is designed to introduce kids to the basic concepts of robotics, programming and circuitry through hands-on activities. If kids attended last year’s Jr. Robotics camp, this year’s camp will explore slightly more advanced concepts and work with real batteries, motors, and Lego robotics.

Little Explorers Pirate Party

July 19-23, 9-11:30 a.m.

Ages 3-6

$75, campers should bring a water bottle and snack

Ahoy, mateys! Climb aboard the USS Wonderfeet for a week of adventure on the high seas! Our pirates will design and build their very own pirate ship fit for the seas before setting sail to find buried treasure. We’ll study our maps and learn navigation to make sure we are headed in the right direction but it’s pretty clear that these buccaneers have an exciting voyage ahead of them.

Junior Activists Camp

July 26-30, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Ages 6-9

$125, campers should bring a water bottle, snack and lunch

Kids can change the world starting right in their own neighborhood! This week is designed to explore the causes you are passionate about, learn about kids who are already making an impact, and give kids hands-on ways that they can start to change their community for good.

Little Explorers Backyard Naturalists

Aug.  2-6, 9-11:30 a.m.

Ages 3-6

$75, campers should bring a water bottle and snack

Explore the wonders of nature all around us! Campers will learn about Vermont’s native plants and animals, discovering what can be found in our own backyard and throughout the Green Mountain State. The week ends with a day exploring at Pine Hill Park.

Wonderfeet is planning to return to publc open hours in May 2021. For specific health protocols  or for more information, read on, of visit wonderfeetkidsmuseum.org/summer-camps to register.
