Patty Stugart, 65

Patty Stugart, 65, of Killington, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 28 surrounded by her loving family in her home.

Patricia Henrietta Fedak-Stugart was born June 1, 1955 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Stanley and Henrietta Fedak.

She was married to Taylor Stugart on July 3, 1976 in Killington.

She was loved by all that knew her, especially by a generation of Killington’s children from the ’70s on.

Together with her husband they owned and operated the Gifted Grocer & Smelly Deli in Killington in the early 1980s where Patty’s pleasant presence was a joy to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was crowned the first queen of the Killington tricycle race in 1975.

A flower child who attended Woodstock ‘69 at the age of 14, she was a true lover of music, dancing, singing, animals (especially dogs), children, laughter and her flower garden. She surfed the wavelength on an ironing board.

She is survived by her husband Taylor, son Jesse, daughter Carly, son-in-law Jonny Vinal, her best friend and granddaughter Vienna, her three sisters Ginny Ruvolo, Marsha Stanzel and Barbara Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date this summer. Arrangements are being made by Aldous Funeral Home.

“Hark now, hear the sailors cry

Smell the sea and feel the sky

Let your soul and spirit fly

Into the mystic”

~Van Morrison
