RUTLAND – Kick off St. Patrick’s weekend by running or walking in Heritage Family Credit Union’s second annual Shiver Me Shamrocks St. Paddy’s 5K Fun Run on March 14, to benefit the Wonderfeet Kids Museum in Rutland.
The first 200 runners to sign up get a t-shirt and a winter hat. After your run, get hydrated and stay for the post-race party at The Hop’n Moose downtown. There will be raffle drawings, music, drink and food specials and lots of fun. Race prizes for first place for men and women and men’s and women’s best costume will be awarded at the after-party, so be sure to wear your green. Even if you aren’t running or walking, plan to stop down and celebrate! Kids will begin the day with the free Leprechaun Leap Fun Run down Center Street at 1 p.m. There will be prizes for best costume.
Early signup is a $25 donation, and runs through Feb. 28. After Feb. 28, the donation is $30. Visit www.hfcuvt.com/funrun to register.
Race day registration opens at 12 noon at Heritage Family Credit Union’s branch on 50 West Street, in Rutland; the race begins at 1 p.m.
Last year, HFCU presented a check to Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum for $3,500 which helped them kick off renovations to their new space at 11 Center Street in downtown Rutland.
