Slate Valley Museum thanks community with free Gypsy Reel virtual concert

Gypsy Reel

GRANVILLE— The Slate Valley Museum is excited to announce a virtual presentation of music performed live by the popular Celtic band Gypsy Reel on Saturday, March 13 from 7-9 p.m.

The band played at the museum to sold out crowds each year for the five years preceding the onset of the pandemic last March. While Covid restrictions continue to pose challenges for large public events, the museum has opted to pivot toward a virtual event this year.

Typically a fundraiser, the concert will instead be offered for people to stream online for free. “We are continuing to forge ahead, create new programs, and make new plans despite the challenges of Covid,” explained board president Molly Celani. “This year, we offer our Gypsy Reel event for free to everyone as a ‘thank you’ for the critical support we’ve received over the last 12 months.”

Gypsy Reel plays Irish classics with their own mix of modern world rhythms that will have you tapping your feet.

Those interested in enjoying the live event can attend virtually via Zoom. Details will be posted on the museum’s website, SlateValleyMuseum.org, and social media pages. Please note that this event is virtual only. The museum remains closed to visits at this time. Any questions should be directed to Museum Associate Wendy Bordwell at associate@slatevalleymuseum.org or 518-642-1417.

The Slate Valley Museum is located at 17 Water St. in Granville, New York.
