Monroe-Cassel to serve as new executive director of Aging in Hartland

Aging in Hartland  (AiH) announced the selection of a new executive director. Maggie Monroe-Cassel accepted the part-time position effective Feb. 1. Founded over 10 years ago, Aging in Hartland is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support healthy aging of Hartland seniors.

Under the stewardship of outgoing Executive Director Tom Ripley and the hard work of its volunteers and two community nurses, AiH has become recognized as a leader.

Aging in Hartland Board President Rachel Obbard said, “We believe that AiH has reached a growth phase, where we need to develop a long-term vision and strategic plan for defining and achieving our objectives. Maggie Monroe Cassel has the skills and experience to help us achieve this transition.”

Monroe-Cassel recently retired from her position as executive director for TLC Family Resource Center serving families in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. She said, “Much of the work is similar to what TLC does though serving the senior population instead of children and families.”

Prior to taking the position in Claremont with TLC, Monroe-Cassel served for 10 years as executive director of Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity and North Central Massachusetts Habitat for Humanity. She holds a BA from Syracuse University and a master of divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Theological Seminary. She served churches in central and western New York as a parish minister for 25 years. For more info visit aginginhartland.org.
