Fighting Saints men close out season at EMCC

By Justin Lemanski
Sports Reporter

On Feb. 13, the Fighting Saints men will be matched up against EMCC for a conference showdown. EMCC comes into the game with a 6-12 overall record and at 3-9 within the conference.

EMCC is led by freshman guard Keyshawn Hampton who is averaging 14 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. EMCC is a team that relies on starters for most of its production, as their five starters all average more than 25 minutes per game. If the Saints can run hard and play at a quick tempo, they could start to wear out EMCC. The Saints will put themselves in good positions to score if they play tough defense while having guards Josh McAfee and Kyle Houston control the ball up the court.

Keys to success for the Saints: Play with energy on both sides of the ball. Run, run, run, and run; use speed for transition offense. Find open three point shooters, and knock down shots.

Tip off is at 8 p.m. at EMCC. The game will end the regular season for College of St. Joseph as they will move on to prepare for the conference tournament.
