Friday, Feb. 6 at 5:15 p.m. — QUECHEE — The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) invites winter-loving adults (21 and above) to join the Winter Wine and Dine on Friday, Feb. 6 from 5:15 – 9 p.m. This event is the perfect way to celebrate a winter night in Vermont: a beautiful, evening hike in the woods followed by a savory, candle-lit meal at the historic Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm.
Led by a VINS educator, participants will snowshoe (depending upon conditions) or hike the trails at the VINS Nature Center in Quechee from 5:30 – 7 p.m., while learning how plants and animals survive the cold and discovering some of the hidden secrets of the landscape. Hikers will then make their way inside for a delicious three-course meal in the Quechee Inn’s Porter Library from 7:30 – 9 p.m.
The Winter Wine & Dine event is presented in partnership with the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm. The event is $50 for members and $60 for the general public. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 4 by calling 802-359-5000, ext. 223. Participants should dress warmly and bring a headlamp if possible. Please indicate whether you will need to rent snowshoes from the VINS Nature Store for this event as there is an additional $3 rental fee from our store the day of the event. Supplies and sizes are limited, so participants are encouraged to bring their own snowshoes.
