The Dog Wizard Rutland opens to provide transformative dog training service

National franchise offers vital service during Covid-19 pandemic

The Dog Wizard has announced the opening of a new corporate location in Rutland, providing pet owners throughout the region with its innovative dog training service that has garnered a national reputation for transforming pet and pet owner relationships.

“Our philosophy is simple. It takes a balanced technique to create a balanced dog,” the company states on its website. “As in any relationship, good communication is essential. We believe your relationship with your dog is hinged on you and your dog’s ability to understand each other.”

The new Rutland location comes on the heels of successful franchise launches of The Dog Wizard in Cincinnati, Sarasota and Minneapolis-Saint Paul, which helped save local pet boarding and daycare facilities when Covid-19 restrictions and quarantine orders halted travel.

“We’re excited to add the Rutland location to our areas of service, and confident it will thrive as our other corporate and franchise locations have throughout the pandemic,” said CEO Gretchen Hollifield. “Throughout the pandemic, an abundance of families welcomed new dogs into their homes while they worked remotely and children were unable to participate in sports or spend time with friends. The result for us was a surge in training needs, ensuring their furry new family members transitioned as smoothly as possible.”

The Dog Wizard is a nationwide mobile dog training and facility-based franchise that offers an alternative to traditional obedience training. Focused on the individual needs of both the dog and the dog owner, the company prides itself on an open-minded approach based on the unique learning style of each dog. Pet owners are immersed in the training experience in a “train the trainer” format, as a way to strengthen the bond with their dog for long-term success.

Service areas include Rutland, West Rutland Killington, Clarendon, Castleton, Proctor, Pittsford, Fair Haven, Chittenden. The Dog Wizard is located at 2631 North Grove St. in Rutland. For more info visit thedogwizard.com/rutland.
