West Rutland Stewart’s robbed at knifepoint, again

On Nov. 11, at 8:51 p.m., troopers from the Vermont State Police -Rutland Barracks, responded to an armed robbery at the Stewart’s Shop located at 116 Main St. in West Rutland. Upon meeting with store employees and reviewing video footage, it was learned that at 8:45 p.m., a lone white male described as approximately 5’9” tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds entered the store, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers, blue jeans, camouflage baseball hat and a white face covering/mask.

The male subject brandished a knife and ordered the clerk to give him the money from the cash drawer. The clerk opened the cash drawer and handed over a large sum of cash. The man exited the store and was last seen walking west on Business Route 4.

The same store was burglarized in a similar manner on Oct. 15 of this year. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Trooper Steven Gelder at the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks, 802-773-9101.
