Killington Rec soccer season is complete

By Sarah Newell

The Killington Rec fall soccer program wrapped up the weekend of Oct. 24 after a successful season. The grade 3/4 team and the two grade 5/6 teams had winning records in their Rutland league. The Little Squirts program, ages 4 to 7, had an excellent season learning skills and an appreciation for the game. If you know a Killington soccer player, please congratulate them on their hard work!

Killington Recreation sports rely completely on volunteer coaches, so special recognition should be given to Josh Reed, Katie Reed, Missy Karr, Laura O’Dwyer, Greg Mortelliti, Arra Derderian, Steve Daigle, Dan Molalley, Andrew McKenna, Chuck Claffey, and Rebecca Claffey for their dedication to the community. Coaches not only had to adapt to new rules this year, including conducting health checks, they also had to modify practices to maintain physical distancing. Even with the new rules, everyone had a great time.
