Democratic nominee for Vermont lieutenant governor Molly Gray announced a series of socially-distant public community forums on town greens and outdoor spaces across Vermont.
“The purpose of these forums is to hear directly from Vermonters about the most important issues and greatest opportunities facing our communities. Now, more than ever, we need to put people before politics and listen to the needs of our communities as we recover from Covid-19 and build a brighter future for Vermont. These forums are intended to do just that,” said Gray.
Gray, who has invited her Republican opponent Scott Milne to participate, also said, “I genuinely welcome the participation of my opponent, Scott Milne, and I hope we have the opportunity to share our respective visions for the future of our great state,” said Gray.
The Rutland forum will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Sept. 17. All forums will be held outside with ample space for social distancing. Attendees are expected to respect social distancing protocols and wear a face mask. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Each event will include opening remarks from local officials followed by introductory statements from the candidates. The candidates will then answer a series of prepared questions from the moderator, before taking questions from community members.
Gray also announced the dates and locations for the remaining community forums, which are available on the campaign website mollyforvermont.com.
