RUTLAND—The neighborhood engagement subcommittee wants to introduce you to Project Vision personally. With a goal to expand community engagement and build great neighborhoods, members have instituted neighborhood walks.
A neighborhood walk is hosted by someone who resides in a neighborhood. They bring other members from the community at large (citizens, volunteers, service providers and police officers), on a tour of their neighborhood. This allows them to share their pride in their community, meet and introduce their neighbors to Project Vision, and in some cases, share a neighborhood need.
To date, the committee has conducted four such walks, and the feedback has been postive. Now, with the weather beginning to turn toward fall, the committee hopes to be invited to take more walks around Rutland city, with an eye to expand to neighboring towns in the near future.
Project Vision is made up of your neighbors. As has become the norm in recent years, we often do not know our neighbors. The neighborhood walks are a great opportunity to change that norm by getting to know your neighbors and Project Vision.
