RUTLAND — The Rutland South Rotary Club has donated $2,500 to the Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library, furthering its mission to support programs that empower local youth and promote lifelong learning.
The Imagination Library, founded by country music legend Dolly Parton, is a global early literacy initiative that delivers free books each month to children from birth to age 5. In Rutland, the program is locally spearheaded by Joan Gamble, who has been instrumental in expanding its reach and impact within the community.
“Supporting organizations like the Imagination Library aligns perfectly with our mission to invest in the next generation,” said Rutland South Rotary Club President Caitlin Perry. “We’re thrilled to contribute to such a meaningful program that helps put books in the hands of our youngest readers.”
The funds for this donation were raised through the club’s annual fundraising raffle, which enables members to support a wide range of community programs each year. The contribution will help ensure more children in the Rutland area are enrolled in the program and receive high-quality, age-appropriate books delivered directly to their homes.
