KILLINGTON—Killington Resort received a positive snow control announcement from FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation), the governing body of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. With this announcement, Killington Resort can assure international race teams and ski racing fans traveling to central Vermont for Thanksgiving weekend that both the giant slalom and slalom races will take place as scheduled on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

“It was a real battle with Mother Nature this year, but once again our superstar snowmaking team was able fire up 125 snowmaking guns to lay down enough snow for a world-class show next weekend,” said Killington President and CEO Mike Solimano. “We were able to take advantage of our fleet of new low-energy snow guns and the new fan guns installed this summer to pull off this feat, and I can’t wait for the best athletes in the world to join us for an incredible weekend of ski racing action. There’s even a chance Mikaela Shiffrin will notch her 100th win on the slopes of The Beast!”

“We are excited to be back in Vermont over Thanksgiving weekend!” said Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. “Not only is this a world-class event with an incredible crowd, but with a centennial milestone on the line by one of our own, we are positive this weekend will be thrilling.”

General admission tickets are available for $10 at killington.com/worldcup. A portion of all tickets will benefit the Killington World Cup Foundation, which provides grants to support winter sports in the Northeast. Limited weekend and Sunday VIP Packages are available through the Killington World Cup Foundation at kwcfgivesback.org. These packages gain fans entry into the Great Gulf LiveKillington.com VIP Tent and premium seating. All Stifel Killington Cup spectators will need a ticket to gain entry to the event.

Preparation for the race continues throughout the event on Superstar, with the snowmaking and grooming teams working in unison. Skiing and riding are also available to the public, and the team continues its efforts to expand skiable terrain whenever conditions allow.

A full schedule of events at Killington Resort during Stifel Killington Cup weekend is available at killington.com/worldcup. The schedule includes race start times and concerts by Fitz and the Tantrums, Matt Quinn of Mount Joy, Eve Six, and DJ Ross One. Returning this year will be the Killington Cup HERoic Panel, focused on women blazing a trail and working for themselves, including speakers Constance Beverley, the CEO of Share Winter, Amy Laramie, VP of Brand Marketing & Events at Killington Resort, Megan Harrod, Publicist & Brand Manager for Mikaela Shiffrin,  Corrine Prevot, the Founder and CEO of Skida, Anouk Patty, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Chief of Sport, and host Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team.
