Deceased man found in Chester identified following autopsy

CHESTER — A body discovered Thursday, June 4, in a creek near Wymans Falls Road in Chester has been identified as Joshua A. Webster, 39, of Springfield, according to a report released June 6.  Webster had been reported missing in March, according to the Hartford Police Department. Subsequent investigation into his disappearance included the Chester Police Dept. and the Vermont State Police.

An autopsy was performed Saturday, June 6, at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington. Determination of the cause and manner of Webster’s death is pending toxicology.

The badly decomposed body was discovered along Wymans Falls Road in Chester on Thursday, June 4, and The Vermont State Police were notified at 6:45 p.m.
