Billings Farm was established in 1871 by Frederick Billings, a native Vermonter known for his work as a pioneer in scientific farm management and reforestation. Billings set out to make his 270-acre farm a model dairy operation for farmers in the region, founded on the principles of efficiency, sustainability, and responsible land use.

The Farm and Museum continues to serve as a model farm, using sustainable practices and offering an array of agricultural programs and workshops for schoolchildren and our visitors.

The Billings Farm & Museum is owned and operated by The Woodstock Foundation Inc., a charitable non-profit institution. Billings Farm and Museum is committed to providing educational opportunities and experiences tovisitors, whether here in Woodstock, Vermont or at home wherever you are through online resources at Billings Farm at Home. Visit them online at billingsfarm.org, and find them on Facebook and Instagram.
