Holiday cheer abounds

Nicole LeBlond and her dog Shiloh pick a christmas tree

By Polly Lynn

‘Tis the week after Thanksgiving and the holiday spirit is strong with Christmas festivals, caroling, community tree lighting ceremonies, holiday concerts, gingerbread making contests, craft fairs, holiday auctions, food drives, charity events and more all taking place this week.

In fact, two of the largest holiday events in the region take place this weekend: the Vermont Holiday Festival in Killington and the Festival of Trees at The Paramount Theatre.

The Vermont Holiday Festival takes place at the Grand Hotel Ballroom at Killington Resort, Friday and Saturday.

Then on Saturday, the Paramount Theatre will host its 12th annual Festival of Trees – the theatre’s popular benefit auction, known for its diverse selection of large prizes to bid on.
