Saturday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. — KILLINGTON — Ted Arbo’s 28th Annual Toys for Tots (Not Tears) Holiday Party will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 4 – 8 p.m. at The Foundry at Summit Pond in Killington. Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy as a donation. In addition to the toy drive, the event will feature a raffle and live auction with all proceeds going to local charity organizations, including Upper Valley Haven, Rutland County Women’s Network and Shelter, Open Door Mission, Rutland County Parent Child Center, and Dodge House.
Raffle items include local restaurant gift certificates, lodging packages, ski and snowboard gear and apparel, Killington golf and ski packages and more. Guests will receive one raffle ticket in exchange for each toy donation,; additional tickets may be purchased at the door. A special limited ticked “super raffle” offers a Jay Peak Weekend Getaway Package for 4, including skiing and a visit to the Pump House Water Park. A live auction will include a 2015 Green Mountain National Golf Season Pass and four tickets to the Broadway show “If/Then” starring Idina Menzel, plus many other great items. Entertainment will be provided by Duane Carleton from 4 to 7:30 p.m.; Jamie’s Junk Show from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Santa will make a special appearance at 6:30 p.m. and be available for photos with the kids.
Ted Arbo’s Toys for Tots Holiday Party has been a celebrated tradition in Killington since 1986. Throughout that time, over $100,000 in toys and donations have been raised, supporting many local agencies and causes. Last year’s event raised $8,500 in donations and collected over 850 toys – a record for the event.
