Torchlight parade to illuminate Okemo

BY Aliya Schneider

Saturday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m.—LUDLOW— An amazing torchlight parade, made up of Okemo’s Ski and Ride School instructors, traverses the Open Slope trail followed by a spectacular pyrotechnics show in the Clock Tower Base Area this Saturday. Even the kids can participant in their own Torchlight Parade this year!  Meet our Ski and Ride School team inside the Base68 restaurant before heading out onto the snow. Children must know how to stop and turn independently on green terrain in order to participate.
The parade concludes with the extinguishing of torches, Okemo lights up the winter sky with an incredible fireworks display. Join a local naturalist for a guided snowshoe hike up the mountain for a different perspective of the fireworks and a peek into some Vermont history. Or, stay at the base area and stay toasty with a warming beverage from the Sitting Bull. This event is free and open to the public. For more information visit Okemo.com.
