Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. — RANDOLPH — If you own and care for woodland, the fate of your land is probably important to you. You hope that future generations will benefit from your efforts. But hope is not a plan. Preserving your legacy requires planning, and that involves more than just having a will or an estate plan. You are invited to attend “Ties to the Land: Take Steps to Guide the Future of Your Land,” which is a succession planning workshop for landowners being held on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Langevin House, Vermont Technical College, Randolph. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
This workshop is a mix of presentation and practical exercises that will give you the knowledge and tools to start succession planning. You will: clarify your values and goals; identify key challenges and ways to deal with them; get tools to determine your heirs’ interests; learn the steps to success planning; and learn about legal options that can support your plan. The workshop cost for Vermont Woodlands Association members is $25, each additional family member is $10; and non-members $35, each additional family member is $15. The fee includes one copy per family of the Ties to the Land succession planning workbook, coffee, and light lunch.
