Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8 a.m.—WEST RUTLAND—The Rutland Audubon Society invites all to join the West Rutland marsh monitoring walk. Go for the full 3.7 mile loop in this National Audubon IBA (Important Bird Area), or go halfway. Kids, new birders and non-members always welcome! Grow your birding skills with our friendly and accomplished bird experts. To participate, meet at the marsh boardwalk on Marble Street at 8 am. For more information contact birding@rutlandcountyaudubon.org. Can’t make it on Jan. 23? Bird monitoring walk happens monthly. To date, 155 species, from least bittern to Northern shrike, have been recorded at this IBA.
