Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. — RUTLAND — The GMP College Connections lecture series is hosting its next energy discussion on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Energy Innovation Center, 68-70 Merchants Row in Downtown Rutland. The free public event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will last approximately an hour. Light refreshments will be served.
College of St. Joseph’s Dr. Rebekah Thomas will give a presentation entitled, “Ecological Footprints: What Size do You Wear?” “Our use of energy can influence the size of our ecological footprint. Not just the total amount of energy that we use, but the type we use as well. Let’s talk about that and see if we can come up with solutions that each of us can apply to our own decision making processes,” says Dr. Thomas.
Thomas is the Associate Professor of Science at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland. Although tasked with starting a science program, she also enjoys teaching non-science majors and promoting science literacy. Her scholarly activities focus mainly on developing or implementing teaching strategies that improve student learning in the science classroom.
