Derby Day Gala supports community TV

Saturday, May 5, 5 p.m.—LUDLOW—Okemo Valley TV will hold its seventh annual Derby Gala on Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 5, at Willie Dunn’s Grille at the Okemo Valley Golf Course in Ludlow from 5-8 p.m.

The gala serves as the primary annual fundraiser event for Okemo Valley TV, the non-profit community television station and media education center serving the region around Ludlow and Okemo Mountain. After operating as LPCTV since its beginnings in 2001, the organization changed its name last year, in response to a growing need to broaden its identity as a regional organization.

With Derby Day falling on Cinco de Mayo, the 5th of May this year, gala guests can expect there to be a unique blending of themes. The event also serves as an unofficial spring kick-off party for the Okemo Valley Golf Club and is open to the public. There will also be a dinner of small plates and entertainment included in the per person ticket price. Each ticket is $30 (limited reserved seating also available). Activities will include several locally-sponsored horse races with charity betting, live viewing of the Kentucky Derby, and a silent auction. There will also be a cash bar featuring derby- and Cinco de Mayo-themed drinks.

If you want to know more information and tickets or sponsorship you can visit okemovalley.tv or call 802-228-8808.

Derby Day in Ludlow is a reason to dress up and don big hats, just as one might if attending the Kentucky Derby event itself.
