Monday, Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. — RUTLAND — David M. Kennedy, Criminology Professor and Director of the Center for Crime Prevention and Control at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York will present a community forum entitled, DMI and Beyond on Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland.
Professor Kennedy will discuss innovative drug market intervention (DMI) strategies that have proven it is possible to address the worst neighborhood harms associated with out-of-control drug markets. Kennedy will also share how these strategies can be used in the heroin markets emerging in Rutland and many other cities nationally.
The community forum is presented by Rutland Regional Medical Center in conjunction with the Rutland City Police Department and Project Vision. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served.
