Killington Art Garage offers workshops during holiday week

Dec. 28-Jan. 2—KILLINGTON—Killington Art Garage is offering daily craft and art workshops for kids and adults during the holiday week.

On Thursday, Dec. 28, join Kids Winter Friends Sock Workshop from 3-4:30 p.m. Create winter friends out of socks with this no-sew craft. Cost is $27 per child; all materials and instructions are provided to create a snowman or penguin. RSVP/tickets are only required for children participating; parents assisting do not need tickets.

That evening, for the adults is an Art Social: Wine Bottle Light Workshop, 5-7 p.m. Create a beautiful wine bottle light. $45 per person includes all materials, instructions, and fees. Seats are limited; registration is required.

On Friday, Dec. 29, there will be a Kids Clay Workshop for ages 4-8, from 10-11:30 a.m. Kids can create-their-own clay self portraits. $27 per child includes all materials and instruction. RSVP/tickets are only required for children participating; parents assisting do not need tickets.

Also on Friday will be a Wind Chime Workshop for kids ages 10 and up, from 3-4:30 p.m. Kids will create a snowman wind chime using a flower pot. Cost is $30 per child and includes all materials and instruction. Parents assisting do not need tickets.

That evening, another adult Art Social will be held from 5-7 p.m.: Wood Sign Workshop. Join for a hand lettering/wood sign workshop and create a personalized winter sign. Participants will start by learning hand lettering stroke techniques with a brush pen, then use chalk markers to create the signs. No experience is necessary. $45 per person includes all materials, instruction, and fees. Seats are limited; registration is required.

On Saturday, Dec. 30, kids can Dress a Gingerbread Person in a workshop 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. for $27 per child. At 3 p.m. will be a Kida Canvas and Cocoa painting workshop, where kids will paint on canvas with acrylic, plus enjoy hot cocoa. Cost is $27 per child. An adult Art Social will be held from 5-7 p.m.: Alcohol Inks/ abstracts. Check out this medium, learn techniques, and see the diverse nature of alcohol inks and their vibrant colors. Explore alcohol inks on Yupo paper and then apply those learned skills to a set of ceramic tiles. The cost is $45 per person.

Sunday, Dec. 31 is Sundays with Maurie from 10 a.m.-noon. Join local watercolor artist Maurie Harrington for her weekly painting sessions every Sunday morning at the Killington Art Garage. All levels are encouraged! $37 includes all, plus complimentary tea, coffee, and sweets will be served.

Later that evening, the Art Garage will host a Kid’s New Year’s Eve party from 4-8:30 p.m. Participants will start the party by creating hats and noisemakers, followed by a dinner next door at Killington Diner. At 8 p.m., they will have their own ball drop. $35 per child includes everything. Reservations are required.

Moving into the new year, kids can join the Inspirational Flag Workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 3-4:30 p.m. Create unique and personalized inspirational prayer flags for $27 per child
