On Sept. 27 and 28, cyclists riding for the Killington Mountain School competed at the Rapha Super Cross in Gloucester, Mass., known around New England as the biggest cyclocross race in the region and the start of the 2014 Verge New England Cyclocross Series. Cyclocross is an endurance sport combining bicycling and running on an obstacle-filled course featuring sharp turns, steep hills, stairs and barriers.
Noah Barrow, Jonah Mead-van Cort, Turner Ramsay, Ian Clarke and Mikko Aho earned solid results in the two-day event, including a first-place finish and the Verge Series leader’s jersey for Aho in the Junior 9-14 Category. KMS cyclists join riders from across the country as they head to the next race in the Verge Series, the Providence, R.I., Cyclocross Festival, Oct. 4 and 5.
