OCTOBER — Is it possible that Rutland County is the most haunted county in Vermont? This October, Rutland County is full of haunted happenings! All through the month of October there are events to make your hair stand on end; here is a sample of some of the things to do:
On Oct. 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, and 31, Bertrand Farms on US Route 7 in Pittsford holds “Terror in the Fields,” featuring haunted hayrides, a haunted corn maze, and local goodies.
“Terrorealm! Dementia Asylum” and “DeadnBerry Mortuary” will be held at Wilson Castle, in Proctor on the same dates; Friday and Saturday nights through Halloween. That’s two haunted houses at one location!
Pittsford Fire Department will hold it’s annual haunted house at Plains Road in Pittsford on Oct. 17, 18, 24, and 25. Be sure to stop for entertainment, baked goods and good scares.
There will be a Halloween Costume Ball at Garofano’s Grille at Proctor Pittsford Country Club on Oct. 17 to benefit Maclure Library. Door prizes, costume prizes, DJ and dancing until midnight will make for a fun evening out.
The Rutland Recreation Running Scared 5k hits Downtown Rutland on Oct. 25. Don’t forget your costume!
And, of course, the annual Halloween Parade, Downtown Rutland is also Oct. 25. It’s the largest parade in New England, and a great evening out for the whole family.
Lothrop PTO will hold Trunk-or-Treat at Bertrand Farms on Halloween, Oct. 31. Yes, that’s a safe place to bring your kids to trick or treat out of the trunks of cars.
