Killington Brewfest features 114 beers

By Polly Lynn

KILLINGTON — The 19th annual Killington Brewfest will take place at Snowshed Lodge, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4.

This year, the event features 114 beers, which makes it the second largest brewfest in the state (behind the Vermont Brewers Festival held on the Burlington waterfront in July.)

In addition to the brewfest tasting sessions Friday and Saturday, events include a golf tournament, putting challenges, live music and a brunch with brewers.

“We are thrilled that the event continues to grow,” said resort spokesman Michael Joseph. “Sales are up significantly with Saturday selling out earlier than last year. We even increased the number of tickets this year, and still saw a pre-event sellout!”

Saturday’s brewfest tasting and the golf tournament are sold out and the brunch was close to selling out, but there were still tickets available for Friday’s tasting session, as of press time.

Brewfest admission is $35 per person and includes a 5-ounce souvenir tasting glass and eight beer tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased. Designated driver (and 21 and under) tickets are $10.

The K-1 Express Gondola and Snowshed Express Quad will both spin all weekend to support hiking, mountain biking and leaf peeping.
