Saturday, Sept. 27 — POULTNEY — Poultney holds their 25th anniversary chili cook-off on Saturday, Sept. 27. This anniversary edition is in memory of former judge Harry Stanyon.
The day kicks off at 7:15 a.m. with registration for the 5K Fun Run, on the Green Mountain College green, across from Katie’s Center (38 College St.). The run begins at 8 a.m.
At 11 a.m., the chili tasting begins! 25th anniversary tasting cups are $10, and are required for your chance to taste and vote for the best chili, with over 20 batches to taste from during the day.
Cups and 25th anniversary t-shirts will be available at the Poultney Rotary tent on Main Street.
Chili winners will be announced at 1:30 p.m., along with a prize for the best themed booth. Music will be provided by DJ John Saltis.
Throughout the day, there will be a silent auction on Depot Street to support Poultney Rotary.
Official rules include the allowance of beer as an ingredient for your chili, and that road kill is not allowed as an ingredient. Stop by Poultney on Saturday to join the fun!
