Saturday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m.—WEST RUTLAND—Hand-carving techniques will be demonstrated and stone carving lore will be discussed, in Alabaster Carving with Scott Cahaly on Saturday, Jan. 28. In the first Carving Studio and Sculpture Center workshop of 2017, participants will have the opportunity to carve their own piece of alabaster. Beginners and experienced sculptors alike will be guided through the process of looking into the rock for imagery, carving into material, planning and forming a sculpture, and using tools.
